Lovely Rita Isn't Like Other Tequilas

Updated: Mar 5, 2021

A girls weekend in Palm Springs wouldn't be complete without a premium tequila. Don't you agree? Let me tell you more about this incredible brand.

Mmmm I can still feel the California sun on my skin, hear the ice clinking in my glass and taste Lovely Rita's smooth, mellow tequila in my "Pink Flamingo" margarita. I haven't been able to stop dreaming about the 3 amazing days my girlfriends and I spent in Palm Springs, not only lounging by the pool but celebrating my upcoming wedding. What a weekend we had! And thanks to Lovely Rita Spirits, our bar was fully stocked with award-winning tequila and agave flavoured vodka that took my "Final Flamingle" to a whole other level. Here's everything you need to know about Lovely Rita, their products and I even included a fun recipe for you all to try.

The Story

The idea was dreamt up by a group of entrepreneurs and tequila enthusiasts from Arizona. Their intention was to "produce a super premium tequila that would be sipped instead of shot and enjoyed by women as well as men," explains Michael Meinerz, President of Lovely Rita. But it's the partnership with Casa Maestri distillery, located in the heart of Jalisco Mexico, that makes the Lovely Rita process truly magical.

The Tequila

Lovely Rita Silver Tequila is surprisingly gentle, exceptionally pure and full of floral and citrus notes. First, high quality blue agave is baked then thick sugar is extracted using traditional mills. Slow fermentation and a second distilling, results in a genuinely exceptional tequila with a luxurious mouth feel and subtle taste.

The Vodka

In keeping with their tequila profile, Lovely Rita vodka is delicate and balanced. "With a touch of white agave nectar from our Mexico distillery, we have created one of the SMOOTHEST vodkas in the world," says Meinerz. Try it straight up in a martini, on the rocks with a twist or with your favourite mixer. You won't be disappointed.

Now it's your turn to give Lovely Rita a go by making these "Pink Flamingo" margaritas at your next bachelorette party, backyard barbecue or Taco Tuesday. Funky straws not optional (just kidding). Be sure to post photos with #wheresmyrita in the caption so I can see all of your beautiful creations. Cheers HFL fam and enjoy!
