Here’s a note I gave to my mom to help her feel safe:
Dear Mom,
When I was just a baby you gave me Teddy and he became my best friend. He kept me safe at night when I was alone and afraid, I told him my secrets and dreams, and he went everywhere with me. With your help over the years he has survived being lost in the snow, being chewed on by our dog, and traveling everywhere that I went for many years.
Mom I want you to have Teddy so he can keep you safe and be your best friend and so you know how much I love you.
Mom cried happy tears when she read my note and she sleeps with Teddy every night. ;)

Awwww. I used to have a monkey that I dragged everywhere, and even gave him a haircut thinking the hair will grow back. :-) Your Mom is lucky to have you as her daughter. So sweet!

HMMM! And now I'm crying. Reminds me of the book by Robert Munsch, Love You Forever. http://www.robertmunsch.com/books.cfm?bookid=40
:) 'sniff!

You care deeply enough to search and find a solution to make your mom feel safe, and to provide it. Isn't that what love is all about? Any mother could be proud to have you as a daughter.
